Nod to Canada “Bocce on Ice” at The Ribbon – Glass City Metropark
Week of March 2 – 8, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. | 7 – 9 p.m. (times may vary as Bocce on Ice is available beyond O Canada! Fest week)
Bocce on Ice is a fun, winter-ready activity for all skill levels, and a great option for those who don’t ice skate. Instead of rolling bocce balls, players slide curling-style dysks toward a puck target (called the jack). Teams take turns aiming for the puck, scoring points based on how close they get. The first team to 12 points wins!

Sibelius’s Violin Concerto occupies rare territory – technically demanding, deeply expressive, and long admired by audiences. Canadian Kerson Leong returns to pour his talent into this haunting and expansive work. Sofia Gubaidulina’s Fairy-Tale Poem offers its own kind of magic: a whimsical wonderland full of strange colors and storybook tension. The program closes with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, a deeply introspective work spanning a range of emotions – from quiet melancholy to vibrant, almost frenetic intensity.
